Registered Belgian Warmblood Mare – Bay, 12 years old, 16.2 hands. Jenni Hogan competed her at first level with scores in the 70s; she was ready to go 2nd level (and this was 2-3 years ago!).
She has been eventing inconsistently for the last year and a half, and is now back to schooling dressage: she needs a home as her last owner is off to college. Asking $7000.

There were so many entries for the schooling show at Jenni Hogan’s Double H Farm that they spilled over into Sunday morning, making it CTDA’s first 2 day schooling show!! Saturday’s rides went from 7:00 to about 5:00 p.m. and Judge Evie Tumlin graciously agreed to continue judging Sunday morning to get everyone in. There were many levels represented – Greenie Weenie up to 3rd Level and also included USEA Beginner Novice, Western Dressage and Walking Horse Dressage. The day was hot but the shade trees made it comfortable for horses and riders. Jenni and her family, as always, were wonderful hosts and everyone appreciated the relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
Volunteers on Saturday were Cathy Holmes, Shelley Fugitt, Amber and Haley Preston and Penny Lindsley. Jenni and schooling show coordinator, Sherry Pride, multitasked on Sunday and performed roles of rider, scribe, ring steward and runner.
New this year is the $15 cash award for the high point CTDA members in each of the 4 divisions (13 and under, Junior/Young Rider, Adult Amateur, Open). Winners from this show, held July 20-21, were:

Junior – Katie MacFarlane on Unanimous Blue 63.214 in Western Intro 1
Amateur – Julia Lankes on Rhinestone Cowboy 68.214 in Training 2

The CTDA’s Newsletter, Transitions, is in need of a volunteer publications staff.
Positions to be filled: Editor, contributing writer (3), contributing photographer.
If you love horses, have any experience in publication editing or writing articles for publication, we could use your help. Experience in graphic design, and use of EMMA or Constant Contact would be considered a ‘plus’!
Transitions is our quarterly GMO newsletter and is a key means of keeping our members up to date and plugged in with the events and activities of the CTDA. Contributing writer’s responsibilities include writing and submitting articles of personal interest for the GMO, and possibly interviewing CTDA members for input. Editor’s responsibilities include organizing content and articles for publication, reviewing articles for accuracy, quality, and appropriateness for the CTDA audience. Publication staff will also be responsible for interaction with CTDA’s select printer for production of hardcopy newsletters as needed.

CTDA offers two year-end award programs per level for the following fourdivisions: Junior 13 and under, Junior/Young Rider, Amateur and Open. Eachhorse/rider combination may be Champion or Reserve Champion in only one program perlevel:
If a horse and rider pair have won a CTDA Year End Championship at aspecific level, this horse and rider pair is NOT eligible for Champion at the same levelin subsequent years. However, a horse and rider pair awarded Reserve at a specific level IS eligible to compete again for Reserve or for Champion at the same level in subsequent years. To be eligible, both the owner and rider of the horse mustbe current CTDA members in good standing at the time tests are ridden.Additionally each horse/rider combination must complete a minimum number ofrides:
Intro-4th Level——–5 rides
Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI)——– 3rides Musical Freestyle————– 3rides
Time frame for scores is between December 1 and November 30 of the current competition year.
The rider is responsible for a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer time OR $100 donation OR soliciting $100.00 in ads/sponsorships.
Volunteer hours may be performed by the rider personally or havethe hours donated to them. Documentation on the Volunteer Report mustbe submitted with scores to beeligible
It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that scores are provided to the CTDAfor awards recognition. Riders should submit copies of their top scores, including those from USEF/USDF recognized shows, for the required number of rides for each level, along with their volunteer hours or sponsorship requirements (appropriately signed by a board member or the show secretary).
70% and 80% CLUB
CTDA has a 70% club and an 80% club for those members that have received 70% or higher at a CTDA sponsored or sanctioned show or USDF recognized show during the year. This information needs to be mailed in on the rider report form to notify the awards person of their achievement. No volunteer or ad/sponsorship monies are required forthis acknowledgment.
