You can get ready even in this wicked weather by at least putting the dates on your calendar and memorizing your tests. You can even start practicing in the living room (oh you know we’ve all done it!). Things that are new for this year are a schooling show cancellation policy (click here to view) and an increase to 8 volunteer hours required for Year End Awards.

Last weekend’s schooling show at beautiful Travelers Rest Farm was fantastic! Because we had had to cancel the previous show due to rain, this show was overflowing with entries. Judge Lori Hoos graciously agreed to come in for a half day on Sunday so everyone got their rides in. The volunteers were wonderful and even the predicted rain held off for the most part! Here are the results.

The dressage community has lost a friend. Michael Foster passed away on Friday, following a battle with colon cancer.
Michael was well-known in the Middle Tennessee horse community. He was a familiar face at CTDA dressage shows. When he wasn’t showing his own horses, Amarillo and Patriot, he was volunteering or cheering for everyone else. He loved all our horses and always asked about them.
Michael was an active volunteer in CTDA, where he served as vice president and communications chair. He was a talented writer who edited the newsletter, emailed news to members, and managed the website.
Michael’s warmth, kindness, and great smile will be remembered and missed. As Kerstin Moltmann Wilder of Old Hillsboro Manor, said “Michael was a great friend and always supportive with a smile on his face, no matter the challenges he was facing.”
Our deepest sympathies are extended to Michael’s family and especially to his son, Adam.
CTDA Board of Directors
Michael’s service will be this Saturday, March 1 @10:00 am, the Grace Church Nashville, 1097 Murfreesboro Blvd, Franklin, TN – the church behind Hobby Lobby on Hwy 96. There will be no pre-service visitation, but instead there will be time to visit after the service on Saturday. There will be no graveside service. Michael is to be cremated and his ashes will go back to Jamaica.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation toward the formation of a Foundation to honor Michael. Checks should be made to Millicent Daly. Please place in the memo section of your check: Michael Foster Foundation”. Checks may be mailed to P.O. Box 150268, Nashville, TN 37215
