Volunteer Hours for 2015

Comments Off on Volunteer Hours for 2015

We are in the process of updating all the old forms that have a 5 hour volunteer requirement for eligibility for Year End Awards. It was decided that for 2015, 8 hours per horse/rider combination is required. Please note this as you plan your show year. We are always in need of volunteers and 8 hours will not be hard to get if you plan ahead! You must have a signed Volunteer Hours Form that you are responsible for keeping until end of the year submission along with your Rider Report Form. Shelley Fugitt (tnsaf@comcast.net) is the new Volunteer Coordinator and she will be happy to help find a volunteer duty for you.

Combined –Driving Event

bwbuggyOur friends in the Middle TN Carriage Club will hold their one-day schooling combined-driving event at Percy Warner Park on Saturday July 11. It takes an army of volunteers, and they need help on Thursday 7/9 putting up the marathon obstacles and dressage ring. Friday, 7/10, will be more grounds prep and setup of cones course. Saturday they need people all day, but particularly in the afternoon to judge marathon obstacles.  And Sunday they could use a hand putting it all back. There are all sorts of jobs – from supervision and shuttling around on golf cart, to general labor…

If you are interested in volunteering, send an email to Tina Melton at tinamelton@aol.com

Let’s put behind us those months that end in “ary” and look forward to some spring weather!

April 4 is the first CTDA schooling show at Walnut Trace. You can access the online entry form by clicking here . Absolute closing date is Saturday, March 28. These shows are very popular and everyone will be ready to get outside so get your entries in early! Once we fill the day, we cannot accept any more entries, even if it is before the closing date.

Then, it’s Spring Fling, our USDF recognized show at Old Hillsboro Manor in Franklin on May 2. It is a one day, one ring show so, again, you will want your entry in early! Prize list can be downloaded by clicking here. The judge is Charlotte Trentelman and she will be conducting an educational symposium the next day on the new 2015 tests. Watch for more news about that!!!!
